1. What Is Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a security system that involves linking an authenticator. Once linked, you need to enter the dynamically generated verification code generated on your mobile phone to complete actions like logging in or transferring funds. The 2FA measure can provide better security for your account information and funds.

2. Linking/Setting Up Your Google Authenticator for the First Time

Follow these guidelines to link your Google Authenticator if you're setting it up for the first time.

Step 1: Log in to your AlphaX account on the app, select the left sidebar and click "Security Center".

Step 2: In the Security Center page, click "Google Authenticator".

Step 3: Click "Download" to proceed to the application store. Download and install the Google Authenticator app. Then, click "Copy" to copy the AlphaX key.

Step 4: On the Google Authenticator app, tap the "+" button located in the bottom right corner. Paste the copied AlphaX key to proceed with linking.

Step 5: Return to the AlphaX app to enter the verification codes on your signed-up email and Google Authenticator. Click "Link" and you'll be returned to your Security Center page. You have now completed the 2FA setup, and your Google Authenticator should now be in a "Linked" state.

3. Unlinking or Updating Your Google Authenticator

3.1 You have access to your Google Authenticator

If your device's Google Authenticator is functioning normally, here are the steps to manually unlink/change your Google Authenticator on the website.

Step 1: Log in to your AlphaX account on the official website, select the left sidebar and click "More".

Step 2: Click the button next to "Security Center"- "Google Authenticator" to disable Google Authenticator.

Step 3: Click "Get Code" and complete the puzzle verification by dragging the slider. Then, enter the verification code received on your signed-up email and Google Authenticator. Click "Confirm" to complete unlinking your Google Authenticator.
Once Google Authenticator is unlinked, the system will log you out of your account automatically. To keep using AlphaX services, you'll need to log back in.

3.2 You don't have access to your Google Authenticator

In cases where you've switched devices or have the Google Authenticator app uninstalled, please reach out to AlphaX's support team for help with unlinking and changing. The verification information you'll need to provide to our support team depends on your account's current KYC status:

  • For Verified Accounts: Your AlphaX account UID, full name and a photo of yourself holding your ID together with a handwritten note (the note should include your AlphaX UID, date and the purpose of the request).
  • For Unverified Accounts: A detailed screenshot of any deposit transaction from a different exchange to AlphaX, including details like the deposit address, amount and timestamp.
Should the system determines your account as high-risk, you may be required to submit additional verification documents. Our support team will guide you on the specific additional information required based on the system's evaluation. Your cooperation in providing this information is crucial to maintain the security of your account funds.
